Ipinarating ni University of Santo Tomas (UST) Rector Father Richard Ang ang pagbati sa mga The Outstanding Thomasian Alumni o Total Awardees.
Inihayag ni Fr.Ang na bukod sa pasasalamat sa mga pinarangalang Alumni ay patuloy nilang isulong ang sama-samang pag-unlad ng lipunan.
Sinabi ni Fr.Ang na alinsunod ito sa apela ni Pope Francis na paigtingin ang pagkakaisa at pagkakapatiran upang sama-samang mapaunlad ang pamayanan.
Hinimok ng Pari ang awardees na ipagpatuloy ang pagiging ehemplo sa mga kabataan at mag-aaral na magpursige at paigtingin ang pagkakaisa upang matamasa nila at kinabibilangang komunidad ang pag-unlad.
“I just would like to congratulate all our Total Awards honorees for this year, they deserve their awards very much because they,- you know went through a very stringent process and it was fellow Total Awardees and outstanding alumni who chose whom to give the awards this year so congratulations and may they continue to support the university,” ayon sa panayam ng Radio Veritas kay Fr.Ang.
Nagpapasalamat naman sa UST si Sr.Maria Marissa Viri, RVM at businesswoman Alice Eduardo sa paggagawad sa kanila ng Total Awards.
Ayon kay Sr.Viri at Eduardo, bukod sa pagpapasalamat ay kanilang ipagpatuloy ang adbokasiya sa mga larangan na kanilang kinabibilangan katulad ng paglilingkod sa simbahan, medisina, pagnenegosyo at ekonomiya.
“So I am very grateful to the University of Santo Tomas for honoring me as one of the total awardees for 2024 and I am humbled for giving this recognition and I hope that the awards that we receive tonight will serve as an inspiration not only to the future Thomasians that to the youth as well that there are many wonderful things that would really transform our society and the formation that we get is what will be inspiration and source of strength that we’ll be able to achieve with a purpose,” ayon sa panayam ng Radio Veritas kay Sr.Viri.
Mensahe nila sa mga estudyante ng UST at iba pang kabataan na huwag mawalan ng pag-asa sa anumang pagsubok na kaharapin,sa halip ay patuloy na patibayin ang pananampalataya upang sama-samang makamit ang pag-unlad.
“Off course I am so honored and grateful for this awards, imagine this week I got the most outstanding alumni in commerce and now this award, Total Award which is outstanding Thomasian Alumini is really just unbelievable for me, I know you are the future leaders (the youth and young Thomasians), you are the future innovators and off course you have to dream big and make your dream come true,” panayam ng Radio Veritas kay Eduardo
Kasama ni Sr.Viri at Eduardo ang 12 iba pang UST alumni na tumanggap ng Total Award bilang pagkilala sa kanilang ambag at pagsusumikap na mapabuti o mapaunlad ang mga larangan na kanilang kinabibilangan sa medisina, agham, arkitekto, pagnenegosyo, sining, Theology at pamamamahayag.
Ngayong taon, tumanggap ng Total awards si Associate Justice Amy Lazaro-Javier; Nestor Cuartero; Joselito Zulueta; Catherine Teh; Edgar Doctor; Jose Pedro Recio; Hasan Fard; Grace Tan Caktiong; Pilar Romero PHD; Office of the President Assistant Secretary Paul Anthony M. Pangilinan bilang Young Thomasian Achiever; Engr. Mariano S. Agoncillo para sa UST Posthumous Award; at Ling Family ng JSLA Architects Family para sa Thomasian Family Award.
