Radio Veritas 846, in partnership with Caritas Manila, will have its special programming for Damay Kapanalig Marawi Telethon on Wednesday, November 8, 2016 from 6am to 6pm to raise funds for the recovery of families in Mindanao affected by the recent crisis in Marawi.
The telethon will start at 6am with the station’s “Veritas Pilipinas” program with Rev. Fr. Nono Alfonso and Ms. Jing Lanzona. They will discuss about the Government’s recent efforts to the crisis in Marawi with key Government officials as program guests to give an on air update.
It will be followed by “Barangay Simbayanan” at 8am with Ms. Angelique Lazo and Rev . Fr. Nicanor Lalog II with guests from different Catholic institutions to give updates on the Church’s existing efforts for Marawi’s rehabilitation.
From 10 am to 11:55 am, the station will air “Pamilya mo, Pamilya ko,” program with Ms Riza Mendoza and Ms. MK Guaño as anchors. They will discuss about the importance of psycho-social support for internally displaced persons in Marawi and how the Church and the government provide these needs. The program will also feature the intervention of Couples for Christ for the well-being of evacuees and families.
The “Misa sa Veritas” at 12:15 pm will be concelebrated by Radio Veritas President and Caritas Manila Executive Director Rev. Fr. Anton CT Pascual with Radio Veritas Vice President for Operations Rev. Fr. Roy Bellen. The Holy Mass will be offered for the special intentions for Marawi Victims and Soldiers.
“Good Samaritan” program will have its extended edition from 1pm to 3pm with Mr. Dennis Geron and guest anchor Veritas Advocate Ms. Leahna Villajos. They will feature stories of Good Samaritans and the heroism of our brothers and sisters in times of struggle and violence.
The Blocktime health programs from 3pm to 6pm will make way for the Damay kapanalig special programming. From 3pm to 5pm,Veritas Disaster Communications Coordinator Mr. Rowel Garcia and Veritas Advocate Ms. Reynalynn Letran will highlight the Church’s response for the post war situation in Mindanao, its rehabilitation plan and development.
From 5pm to 6pm, Veritas Advocates Ms. Marian Navalez-Pulgo and Mr. Eruel Geronimo will conclude the donation count and will recognize select benefactors and donors.
Damay Kapanalig is in partnership with Caritas Damayan, one of the programs of Caritas Manila. Through its Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Program, Caritas Manila has put in place a disaster management program that allows for quick response relief operation and effective crisis intervention.
