Radio Veritas 846, the leading faith-based AM radio station in Mega Manila, is inviting everyone to listen and know the truth behind the burning socio-environmental issues in a no-holds bared one-on-one interview with Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) Vice-President and Kalookan Bishop Most Rev. Pablo Virgilio David, D.D.
Bishop David will serve as guest on the station’s public affairs and advocacy program “Barangay Simbayanan” from 8 am to 10 am to discuss the Diocese of Kalookan’s mission, SALUBONG community-based drug rehabilitation, and programs for the faithful, inmates, street children, widowed and orphans.
The term “socio-environmental advocacy” refers to a wide variety of careers, avocations, and activities that includes work in forms of social-environmental law and policy, careers with mainstream environmental and social arm groups, and working with other advocacy groups.
Radio Veritas President Rev. Fr. Anton CT. Pascual explained the importance of the environmental advocacy and encouraged the public to listen and join in the discussion.
“As children of God, we must protect His entire gift to us including our environment. We must take part in various activities and advocacies that aims to protect life. Let us all take this opportunity to know more about different socio-environmental issues,” Fr. Pascual said.
Bishop David served as Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of San Fernando, Pampanga and parish priest of the Holy Rosary Parish in Angeles City. He was assigned by His Holiness Pope Francis as Bishop of Kalookan on October 14, 2015 and was installed by Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle, D.D. on January 2, 2016.
Radio Veritas 846 is owned and operated by the Archdiocese of Manila. Established in 1969, the Ramon Magsaysay recipient Catholic radio station continues to be the leading social communications ministry for truth and evangelization in the country today.
