As the season of Christmas is approaching, Caritas Manila is extending its efforts to provide assistance and give joy to the poor through its #ShareYourChristmas online campaign.
Caritas Manila Executive Director Rev. Fr. Anton Pascual said that the online campaign reminds us that the real essence of Christmas is love and charity.
“As we approach what seems to be a tough Christmas season due to the rising inflation rates, worse self-rated poverty statistics, and an increase in the number of Filipinos experiencing involuntary hunger, we are calling all the faithful to remember our brothers and sisters in need,” Pascual said.
Pascual also pointed out that aside from spending all the the extras we have, we can shift our priorities and consider sharing some of our blessings to help the poor during the Christmas season.
“We are reminding all the Catholic faithful that material wants is not what we should prioritize during this season, but the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. And helping out our brothers and sisters who are suffering is a good way of preparing ourselves for our Savior,” Pascual added.
#ShareYourChristmas is an online campaign platform of Caritas Manila that aims to bring the joy and spirit of Christmas to the less fortunate by providing assistance to them through donations in-cash.
