“We are in prayerful communion with the Archbishop of Davao and our countrymen in that city.
We grieve too over the death of innocent brothers and sisters due to the bombing past midnight.
Violence shocks us. Acts of terrorism jolt us. When fellowmen die, a part of our humanity dies too.
We pray for peace for the dead victims. We pray for healing for the wounded. We pray for strength for the bereaved families.
We pray for the restoration of brotherhood and harmony for Davao and for the nation.
Gandhi said: I object to violence because when it appears to do good, the good is only temporary; the evil it does is permanent.
Let not vengeance be our response but peace! Christ our peace, restore our peace!” bahagi ng statement ni Archbishop Villegas
“Loving Almighty Father we ask for your guiding presence in our community, in Davao and the rest of Mindanao. May acts of violence and lawlessness will not be a barrier to our continuing reliance in your abiding presence in our life. And to the intercession of our Blessed Mother may all communities in Davao will continue to work for peace and development and for the prosperity of everyone. We may be spare in your name Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen!

“Loving God, we commend to your compassionate and merciful heart our beloved country now threatened with violence from death-dealing forces. We entrust to you the souls of all those who perished in Davao bombing and in all areas of our country, bring their souls to your eternal abode. Let your law of love triumph over the lawlessness we experience, over the pains and tribulations we suffer. Jesus, Prince of Peace, have mercy on us. Mary, queen of peace, pray for us! Amen
