All Saints’ Day is not just a day of solemn remembrance of the saints, many people believe that it is also the darkest and spookiest holiday of the year. However, do Catholics have to make this holiday filled with superstitions and fear?
Radio Veritas is inviting the faithful to listen to the special edition of the program “ Kristo Liwanag sa Dilim” on November 1, 2016 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm with the Spiritual Director of Prayer Warriors of the Holy Souls and an Exorcist Rev. Fr. Jojo Zerrudo as he answers the many questions and the controversies about All Saints’ Day.
On All Souls’ Day, Rev. Fr. Zerrudo will also answer the question, “Can people call and talk to the spirits of their dead loved ones?” on the special program called “Poor Souls in Purgatory” from 6:00pm to 7:00pm on November 2, 2016.
Special programs “ Kristo Liwanag sa Dilim” and “Poor Souls in Purgatory” are part of “Dalangin at Ala-ala” the two-day special programming of Radio Veritas 846 for Undas 2016. Other programs aimed at enlightening the faithful about the beliefs and traditional practices of the people during Undas and its religious explanations are as follows:
On November 1, Rev. Fr. Nick Lalog will answer the question, “Traditional practices for All Saint’s Day, are they still relevant?” on his program from 8:00 am to 10:00 am. This will be followed by another special program, “Family Experiences and Encounters” with Rev. Fr. Dars Cabral from 10:00 am to 11:55 am. The novena for the poor souls in purgatory will be recited after.
Rev. Fr. Anton C.T. Pascual, Radio Veritas president, will preside the Holy Mass at Loyola Memorial Park Chapel in Marikina City at 12:15 pm. The mass will also be aired live over Radio Veritas 846 for its listeners.
On November 2, “Barangay Simbayanan” will give way for the airing of the special program “Habag at Awa para sa mga Kaluluwa sa Purgatoryo” from 8:00 am to 10:00 am with Rev. Fr. Hans Magdurulang. A special program “Multo at paniniwala tungkol sa mga Kaluluwa” will also be aired from 10:00 am to 11:55 am with Rev. Fr. Bobby Dela Cruz.
The novena for the souls in purgatory will be aired at 12:00 noon followed by the Healing Mass dedicated for the Crime and Impunity against Journalists to be presided by Fr. Pascual at 12:15 pm.
