Bibigyang-pagkilala ng Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) ang dalawang lingkod ng Simbahan na pambihirang nagpamalas ng pagmamahal sa Panginoon at bayan.
Igagawad ng CEAP ang 2022 Pro Deo Et Patria Award kay Benedictine nun Sr. Mary John Mananzan, OSB bilang pagkilala sa kanyang paninindigan at pagsusulong ng katarungang panlipunan bilang bahagi ng kanyang paglilingkod sa Panginoon at pagpapalaganap ng mga turo ng Simbahan.
“The Pro Deo et Patria Award is given by the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) to deserving individuals who manifest an exemplary attitude of love for God and country, and their faithfulness to Catholic teachings as part of service to God. This year, the Board of Trustees has decided to confer the 2022 Pro Deo Et Patria Award to Sr. Mary John Mananzan, OSB,” pahayag ng CEAP.
Ayon sa pamunuan ng CEAP, katangi-tangi ang pag-aalay ni Sr. Mananzan ng kanyang buhay hindi lamang para sa Panginoon kundi maging sa pagsusulong ng katarungang panlipunan at pagtatanggol sa mga naaapi.
“Sr. Mary John Mananzan is the current VP for External Affairs of St. Scholastica’s College. As a Missionary Benedictine nun, she has spent her life as a Catholic nun, leader, educator, social activist, and theologian. She stood up with oppressed groups and individuals during the Martial Law and continued to be vocal and active in various social movements,” dagdag pa ng CEAP.
Si Sr. Mananzan ay kasalukuyang nagsisilbi bilang Vice President for External Affairs ng St. Scholastica’s College at isa ring co-founder ng GABRIELA (General Assembly Binding Women for Integrity, Reforms, Equality, Leadership, and Action) at ng Institute of Women’s Studies in St. Scholastica’s College-Manila.
Igagawad din ng CEAP ang 2022 Pro Deo Et Patria Award kay Br. Armin A. Luistro, FSC. sa pagsusulong ng patas at kalidad na edukasyon sa bansa bilang isa sa “Philippine education’s true leaders and educators”.
Si Br. Armin A. Luistro, FSC. na dating nagsilbi bilang kalihim ng Department of Education ay ang kauna-unahang Filipino na naitanghal upang magsilbi bilang 28th Superior General ng Brothers of the Christian Schools.
Ayon sa CEAP, “Regardless of the role he took, Br. Armin never failed to show his steadfast leadership as an educator and a servant of God. He truly is worthy of the Pro Deo et Patria Award.”
