Nagsagawa ng soft launching ang University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines – Cagayan de Oro (USTP-CDO) para sa isang mobile marketplace application na layong makatulong sa pagtitinda ng produktong likha sa kawayan na nakabatay sa siyensiya at teknolohiya.
Ito ay ang Bamboost App na isa sa mga project output ng USTP-CDO na may paksang “Mainstreaming of Bamboost App as an Online Marketing Platform of Bamboo Farmers in Select Science & Technology Community-Based Farm (STCBF) Sites”.
Suportado at pinondohan ito ng Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD).
Ayon kay Professor Marylene Eder, Project Support Staff ng Bamboost Project, kasalukuyang nasa Phase 1 na ng development at user testing ang Bamboost App na layong ipakilala sa mga magsasaka, processor at negosyante ng kawayan.
“One of the objectives of this activity is to get feedback from the beneficiaries of the mobile app whom we consider as part of the team,” ayon kay Eder.
Naniniwala naman si DOST-PCAARRD Technology Transfer and Promotion Division (TTPD) Assistant Director Jose Tomas Cabagay na ang matagumpay na pagpapatupad sa proyektong Bamboost App ay makakatulong sa mga bamboo farmers at makikilala sa mga darating na panahon.
“This project is not only important for us because of its eventual success in terms of technology generation and commercialization, and an improvement in marketing strategies for our local commodities; but more importantly because this will contribute to the sustainable and inclusive development of bamboo farming communities and cooperatives,” ayon kay Cabagay.
Ang mga lalawigan ng Bukidnon, Iligan, at Iloilo ang mga unang target sites ng proyekto kung saan nilalayong gamitin ang nasabing app.
Sinabi naman ni USTP-CDO Department of Information Technology Associate Professor Love Jhoye Raboy na siyang namumuno sa Bamboost App Project na inaasahan nilang magiging matagumpay ang proyekto para sa pag-unlad ng bamboo farming community sa bansa.
“This is just the start, looking forward to the success of this project, and most of all to the success of the bamboo farming community. Help us help you to reach our locals, the nation, and the world,” saad ni Raboy.
Ginanap ang soft launching ng mobile marketplace application noong May 24, 2022 sa iDEYA: Center for Technopreneurship Innovation sa Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT).
Hinihikayat ng Kanyang Kabanalan Francisco ang lahat na gamitin ang makabagong teknolohiya sa pagpapaunlad ng kabuhayan at pamumuhay ng mamamayan na may paggalang sa dignidad at kapakanan ng tao at kalikasan.
