Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle will grace the celebration of the Jubilee of the Laity with the theme, “Hesus: Liwanag ng Awa at Mukha ng Kawang-gawa” on the Katolikong Pinoy formation Series on September 17, 2016 from 8:00am to 12:00nn at the Lay Formation Center, San Carlos Pastoral Formation Complex in Makati City.
September is a special month for the laity and the month when the Feast of San Lorenzo Ruiz de Manila, the first Filipino saint and the patron of the laity is celebrated. It is also the month of the catechists and it is within this month that the National Laity Week is celebrated.
Spearheaded by the Archdiocesan Ministries on Lay Formation, Catechesis, Family and Life, Ecology, and Youth together with the Office for the Promotion of the New Evangelization the Jubilee of the Laity hopes to celebrate Jesus as the true light to all mankind and to keep the Light alive and burning, always felt and seen by everyone. During this event, Cardinal Tagle will give a talk on the topic “Eucharist that leads to Brotherhood and Social Transformation.”
This month’s Katolikong Pinoy Formation Series will be aired live in Radio Veritas 846 on the AM band. Public affairs programs, “Magkabiyak sa Batas” and “Veritasan” will give way for this special programming. The formation can also be watched via live streaming at www.veritas846.ph and in TV Maria on Dream Channel 1, Sky Cable Channel 210 and Global Destiny Channel 96.
The 2016 Katolikong Pinoy Formation Series is a year-long activity at the Lay Formation Center (LAYFORCE) program of the Archdiocese of Manila with the general theme, “Year of Mercy: A Season of Grace to Renew, Respond and Reconcile.” The talks are held every third Saturday of the month from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Lay Formation Center, San Carlos Pastoral Formation Complex, EDSA Guadalupe, Makati City. Admission is free.
The Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy is the 27th holy year in history announced by His Holiness Pope Francis is a Roman Catholic period of grace, peace, conversion and joy held from December 8, 2015 to November 20, 2016. It is a time for remission of sins and universal pardon focusing particularly on God’s forgiveness and mercy.
