Two days after the news on the presence of ‘Satanic’ rosaries in the Country have gone viral, Diocese of Novaliches Chief Exorcist Rev. Fr. Ambrosio Nonato Legaspi reaffirms the need to be cautious on the existence of such rosaries and provides the Faithful their options on it.
“Some Catholic quarters are saying this is fake news. No it is not. This is as old as 2007,” he proclaimed through his FB Page on August 6, 2017 along with photos of actual Satanic rosaries.
“We are just repeating the caution we should take in acquiring our prayer objects and paraphernalia. Are there Satanic Rosaries? YES. Just Google, my friends,” he said in the same FB (https://web.facebook.com/brosh.legaspi) post, pertaining to his caution given during the August 7, 2017 Diocese of Novaliches Spiritual Warfare Episode of Hello Father 911 in Radio Veritas.
This FB post actually echoed what he said in an interview conducted a day before, “2007 pa ang warning from EWTN. We were just fortunate to have encountered it in our Ministry this year.”
During the said interview, he directed those who would like to know more about these ‘Satanic’ rosaries to the website of ApparitionSites.Com ( http://www.apparitionsites.com/apparition-sites/new-age-rosaries.htm).
He explained that, although the said website calls them New Age Rosaries, these are also referred to as ‘Satanic’ because its roots in New Age lead to the demonic.
“If it’s New Age, it certainly leads to the demonic as, the occult esoteric practices of New Age movement provide wide openings for satanic activities,” stressed the priest whose experience as exorcist dates to the time of the late Cardinal Sin when he was tasked to handle the Commission On Visions and Phenomena of the Archdiocese of Manila after he returned from Rome to study Sacred Theology.
On allegations that he was insinuating the need to throw these rosaries, Fr. Legaspi clarified such is not the case.
“Don’t misinterpret this warning by the way. We are NOT ever saying to throw away these things. NO,” he sternly said. “Neither are we DEMONIZING these things. We have a LOT to do than just see Satan in everything.”
“What we are doing is giving the WARNING. WE JUST NEED TO BE CAUTIOUS. It is okay to be warned so we can protect ourselves from demonic infestation,” he emphasized.
“Why are we doing this? We want to be proactive NOW. We seem to have been too complacent and then reactive for so long,” Fr. Legaspi added.
According to him, the warning he gave is like a bottle of contaimated water in one’s refrigerator that one would naturally take cautions with to protect the health and safety of one’s family. You either get rid of it or do something to purify it. Not doing anything endangers the health of your unsuspecting family members.
He then gave three options for those who discovered being in the possesion of these ‘Satanic’ rosaries after reading the article published on it last September 4, 2017 in the CBCP News Website. These were: “a) have them blessed and exorcised if need be (just to be sure), b) and the exorcist priest will be the one to dispose them properly. Do not throw them away (in the garbage can) as someone else may pick them.”
“In fact, if the owners of these objects cannot part ways with these things, it would always be enough that they have these objects exorcised and blessed; and they, the owners, make sure they are all in the state of grace. They can keep them and even use them for prayers too,” he pressed.
Meanwhile, he posted a Procedure To Destroy Occultic Or Cursed Objects For Lay and Priests, as well as one For Priests Only on his FB Page. The said procedures, along with in-depth explanation were also made available in his Dropbox.Com account. (https://www.dropbox.com/s/s4g88ph2jc8ixmi/PROCEDURE%20TO%20DESTROY%20OCCULTIC%20OR%20CURSED%20OBJECTS.docx?dl=0 “)
One last note from Fr. Legaspi: “I always question the validity of claims posted on the Internet. Everyone should do too. That is why anyone can just put up a web page saying this or that is a hoax, or this or that is true. While the EWTN warning was a starting point, we are not issuing the warning based on it or on any video on YouTube. We are issuing the warning soley based on the fact that there are other ‘strange’ rosaries out there that unsuspecting Roman Catholics should be aware of.”
He also other websites of New Age origin in his FB Page such as those of SummitLighHouse.Org (https://www.summitlighthouse.org/inner-pe…/a-new-age-rosary/ + https://www.summitlighthouse.org/mother-marys-rosary/) and of AtlanteanHeart.Com, which is promoted by so-called Liberal Catholics that focus on the seven rays teaching of Helena Blavatsky, a Russian occultist, spirit medium, and author who co-founded the Theosophical Society in 1875 (http://www.atlanteanheart.com/rosary-of-seven-rays.html. And yet another version of the rosary, this time invoking so-called “ascended masters”: http://www.heartscenter.org/TeachingsBlogs/OurSpiritualPractices/AscendedMasterRosaries/tabid/337/Default.aspx#.Wa_-0dhLdhG)
In the end, Fr. Legaspi says, “Let us not argue about symbols and their meanings. These are only starting points for discussion. Fact is when the reality of spiritual warfare steps in, symbols and sigils do not matter. This is a real spiritual war now. If you do not want to be warned about the Big One (earthquake) because of skepticism, do not laugh at those who prepare for its eventuality.”
With the CBCP News September 4 article having 5000 shares in the CBCP News Facebook Page as of this writing and reaching Media giants ABS-CBN and GMA 7, emails and calls from alarmed Catholics have then been received by the Office of Exorcism of the Diocese of Novaliches (Libera Nox) asking for instructions on how to deal with the ‘Satanic’ rosaries as well as asking for help on the oppression they have experienced since receiving such rosaries.
