“Even ‘Gorio’ cannot stop the faithful to be with Christ”
This is according to Bro. Marco Evangelista, MI as catholics attended the Kerygma Lay formation Series organized by Radio Veritas with the National Shrine of our Lady of Lourdes last July 27, 2017 while Typhoon Gorio poured heavy rains and strong winds in Metro Manila.
The attendees received a seminar on Apologetics and its mission to defend the Catholic Church against false accusations and allegations from different sectors, cults and other denominations. The talk of Bro. Marco centered on Christ as God who became human and the Blessed Virgin Mary, the mother of God.
According to the shrine’s parish council, more than 80 parishioners from different Lay groups attended the formation Series.
The Kerygma Lay formation series being run by Radyo Veritas 846 in partnership with different parishes aim to help provide holistic teaching and formation of the lay faithful. Apart from apologetics, the Kerygma series offers talks on values formation, family and life, pastoral planning, social communications, and on the Yea,r of the Parish as Communion of Communities, which is theme of the fifth year preparation of the centenary of Christianity in the Philippines, among others.
The talks are given by priest and anchors of Radio Veritas and is the station’s way of reaching out to its Kapanalig listeners in their respective parishes and communities.
Bro. Marco Evangelista is a consecrated Knight of the Militia of Immaculata (M.I) which was founded by San Maximilian Maria Kolbe. He is a laity who is an active apologetic. He anchors the Radio Veritas program Apolohetika airing every Sunday from 2pm to 3pm.
The National Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes also known as “Lourdes Church,” is under the Diocese of Cubao and was inaugurated in 1951 in Kanlaon cor. Amoranto ave, Quezon city after the original church in Intramuros, Manila was destroyed during the World War II.
