Radio Veritas, the leading faith-based AM station in the Mega Manila, is set to provide on-site public service in different parishes in Metro Manila as part of the station’s commitment to charity through “Good Samaritan”.
The station will launch a new radio program entitled “Good Samaritan Mission” that will air every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month from 7am to 8am. In this program the station will have its outside broadcast of public service like medical missions from Radio Veritas’ partner doctors, livelihood training programs from Caritas Salve, and job fairs from Caritas et Labora Human Resource Service Cooperative.
The program will feature, Ms. Lany Cabral-Salonga, Radio Veritas Executive assistant and Ms. Riza Mendoza, Radio platform head of the Station as anchors.
On September 24, 2017, the station will provide dental-medical mission and ophthalmology service in Santo Niño sub parish in Baseco Compound to almost 60,000 residents of Barangay 649 in Tondo, Manila and other nearby communities.
The Good Samaritan was launched last June, 2017 airing every Monday to Friday from 1pm-2pm. It serves as a platform for those in need to make on-air appeals for legal or spiritual advice, medical, material and financial assistance, and link them to “Good Samaritans”.
According to the Good Samaritan staff, as of August 2017, the program has given financial and medical assistance to 111 individuals and funeral aide to 71 families. Currently, the program is helping another repatriation case and is continuously accepting pleas and requests from those who are in need.
Caritas Salve Credit Cooperative is a micro-finance cooperative dedicated to help provide livelihood for poor Filipino families. It aims to uplift the socio-economic condition of micro-entrepreneurs in the Philippines and enable their families to meet basic needs.
Caritas et Labora Human Resource Service Cooperative provides an integrated program for empowerment of member-workers, through effective trainings for skills development, infusing of moral values and right attitude to become not just compensated but trustworthy and upright personnel to the companies, institutions and offices they will be serving.
