HEAVENLY BANQUET

Feast of our Lord Jesus Christ,
The Eternal High Priest

While they were eating, he took bread, said the blessing, broke it, gave it to them, and said, “Take it; this is my body.” Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, and they all drank from it. He said to them, “This is my blood of the covenant, which will be shed for many. Amen, I say to you, I shall not drink again the fruit of the vine until the day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.”

————

Jesus did not just leave his disciples with his teachings and later sent his Spirit to give all the gifts needed by us to understand his teachings and help us remain faithful Christians. Through his Spirit, he made sure that he would continue to be present to us as bread and wine in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist, in which he presides up to this very day in the form of the Presider. Because of this, our lives as Christians are truly enriched by his Word, by living a Christian Life, and by Communal Prayer. We have everything we need to partake in the HEAVENLY BANQUET of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Eternal High Priest.

Thank you Jesus, for your thoughtfulness and kindness!
