Ang Mabuting Balita, 22 Oktubre 2023 – Mateo 22: 15-21

IMBITASYON

World Mission Sunday

Noong panahong iyon, umalis ang mga Pariseo at pinag-usapan kung paano nila masisilo si Jesus sa kanyang pananalita. Kaya pinapunta nila sa kanya ang ilan sa kanilang mga alagad, kasama ang ilang tauhan ni Herodes. Sinabi nila, “Guro, nalalaman naming kayo’y tapat, at itinuturo ninyo nang buong katotohanan ang ibig ng Diyos na gawin ng mga tao. Wala kayong pinangingimian sapagkat pareho ang pagtingin ninyo sa tao. Ano po ang palagay ninyo? Naaayon ba sa Kautusan na bumuwis sa Cesar, o hindi?” Ngunit batid ni Jesus ang kanilang masamang layon kaya’t sinabi niya, “Kayong mapagpaimbabaw! Bakit ibig ninyo akong siluin? Akin na ang salaping pambuwis.” At siya’y binigyan nila ng isang denaryo. “Kaninong larawan at pangalan ang nakaukit dito?” tanong ni Jesus, “Sa Cesar po,” tugon nila. At sinabi niya sa kanila, “Kung gayon, ibigay ninyo sa Cesar ang sa Cesar, at sa Diyos ang sa Diyos.”

Katatapos lang ikwento ni Jesus sa kanila ang talinghaga tungkol sa Kasalan ng anak ng hari, kung saan hindi dumalo ang mga inimbita, kaya’t inimbita ang mga nasa lansangan na hindi unang inimbita. Pakiramdam ng mga escriba at Pariseo, sila ang itinutukoy na unang inimbita. Tinapos pa ni Jesus ang talinghaga sa, “Marami ang tinatawag, ngunit kakaunti ang pinili.” Sapagkat ipinagmamalaki nila na sila ang mga taga-salin ng Batas ni Moises at sila ay nakahihigit sa iba sa larangan ng relihiyon, maaaring iniisiip nila na sila ang “kakaunting pinili.” Ngunit, sa maraming pagkakataon, sinasabihan sila ni Jesus tungkol sa kanilang pagpapaimbabaw, o ang hindi pagkakatugma ng kanilang salita sa gawa. Inilantad ni Jesus ang kanilang kaluluwa kaya’t napuno sila ng galit, at kinailangan nilang maghanap ng iba pang maipaparatang sa kanya. Sa pagkakataong ito, gumawa sila ng paraan upang ang pamahalaan ay maging kalaban ni Jesus. Ngunit, hindi nagwagi ang kanilang “entrapment operation” sapagkat hindi problema kay Jesus ang pagbabayad ng buwis sa mga Romano.

Kapag tayo ay tinatamaan ng Salita ng Diyos, ito ay isang IMBITASYON SA KALIGTASAN. Ang Salita ng Diyos ay hindi ipinahahayag upang tayo ay masaktan or husgahan. Ito ay laging patungkol sa pagmamahal ng Diyos para sa atin! Kapag tayo ay nasiyahan sa Salita ng Diyos, ito ay isang IMBITASYON NA MAKIISA SA MISYON NG PAGLILIGTAS NI KRISTO.

“Magsalita po kayo, Yahweh. Nakikinig po ang inyong lingkod.” (1 Samuel 3: 9-10)
