Ang Mabuting Balita, 23 Oktubre 2023 – Lucas 12: 13-21

KAMATAYAN

Noong panahong iyon, sinabi kay Jesus ng isa sa mga tao, “Guro, iutos nga po ninyo sa kapatid ko na ibigay sa akin ang bahagi ko sa aming mana.” Sumagot siya “Ginoo, sino ang naglagay sa akin bilang hukom o tagapaghati ng mana ninyo?” At sinabi niya sa kanilang lahat: “Mag-ingat kayo sa lahat ng uri ng kasakiman; sapagkat ang buhay ng tao ay wala sa laki ng kayamanan.”

At pagkatapos ay isinaysay ni Jesus ang talinhagang ito: “Ang bukirin ng isang mayaman ay umani nang sagana. Kaya’t nasabi niya sa sarili, ‘Ano ang gagawin ko? Wala na akong paglagyan ng aking ani! A, gigibain ko ang aking mga kamalig, at magtatayo ako ng lalong mas malalaki. Doon ko ilalagay ang aking ani at ari-arian. At sasabihin ko sa aking sarili, Ayan, marami na akong ari-arian! Hindi na ako kukulangin habambuhay! Kaya’t mamamahinga na lang ako, kakain, iinom, at magsasaya!’ Ngunit sinabi sa kanya ng Diyos, ‘Hangal! Sa gabing ito’y babawian ka ng buhay. Kanino mapupunta ang mga bagay na inihanda mo?’ Ganyan ang sasapitin ng nagtitipon ng kayamanan para sa sarili, ngunit dukha naman sa paningin ng Diyos.”

Ang pandemia ng covid 19 ay nagturo sa atin ng isang dakilang aral: ANG KAMATAYAN AY HINDI MAIIWASAN AT HINDI MAHUHULAAN. Napakaraming tao – miyembro ng pamilya, kamag-anak, kaibigan at mga kilala natin ang nawala na lang sa balat ng lupa. Hindi kinayang bilhin ng salapi ang mga doktor, gamot at oras. Pag dumating na ang oras, hindi maaaring pahabain pa ang buhay. Ano ngayon ang saysay ng pagtitipon ng kayamanan sa lupa sa halip ng pagtitipon ng kayamanan sa langit sa pamamagitan ng pagbahagi sa mga nangangailangan? Hindi kailangang maganap ang isa pang pandemia upang magbigay ng “ayuda” o maglunsad ng “community pantry” sapagkat ang pangangailangan ay walang katapusan, mayroon man o wala mang pandemia.

Pinag-iingat tayo ni Jesus sa KASAKIMAN sapagkat ito ang dahilan kung bakit gusto nating magtipon ng kayamanan ng lubos-lubusan. KASAKIMAN ang dahilan kung bakit tayo hindi makatarungan sa mga nagtratrabaho sa atin; kung bakit nasisira ang magandang pagsasama ng pamilya; kung bakit tayo ay nagiging “corrupt,” at marami pang iba. KASAKIMAN ang magiging hadlang sa ating pagkamit ng buhay na walang hanggan. Tumpak ang sinabi ni Jesus sa Marcos 8: 36, “Ano ang mapapa­kinabangan ng isang tao kung makamtan man niya ang buong sanlibutan at mawala ang kaniyang kaluluwa?”

Panginoong Jesus, turuan mo kaming hanapin ang mga makalangit na kayamanan!
