Church-run Radio Veritas President Rev. Fr. Anton CT. Pascual is inviting all the Catholic faithful to grace the celebration of the Nativity of the Blessed Mary by praying before the image of Nuestra Señora del Mar Cautiva on September 8 at the Our Lady of Veritas Chapel.
Pascual said that this celebration is their way of promoting the advocacies of the Catholic Church while they intensify their mission of bringing the Catholic faithful to new evangelization by strengthening and deepening their faith as well.
“The celebration of the Nativity of the Blessed Mother is a good opportunity for all of us as we prepare ourselves for the celebration of 500 years of Christianity in our country. Through the Blessed Virgin Mary, it is our way of promoting and strengthening the faith of the faithful to our Lord Jesus Christ,” Pascual said.
Come from the town of Sto. Tomas in La Union, the miraculous image of Nuestra Señora del Mar Cautiva is becoming known for its numerous miracles that were attributed to her intercession and pilgrims. It is made from a wooden bastidor while the Child Jesus is made of ivory.
The holy image of the Blessed Mother was brought to the parish church of Sto. Tomas on July 19, 1845, and was enshrined at the altar for public devotion. Since then, various miracles, conversions and cures, including safe and easy childbirth, were attributed to her.
Meanwhile, the miraculous image of Nuestra Señora del Mar Cautiva will be enthroned at the Our Lady of Veritas Chapel from September 3 to 28, 2018 from 9 am to 6 pm. For inquiries, please call 925-7932 local 129 and look for Ms. Renee Jose or Mr. Lawrence Valdez.
Pascual also added that Catholic faithful and devotees may look forward for other images that will be enthroned at Veritas Chapel as they will extend their effort to bring and unite all the Catholic faithful.
“Our mission to build a community of faith will not end in this celebration as we have aligned various programs for all the Catholic faithful. We will extend our services beyond what we are doing right now in order to provide and bring a more meaningful life through faith,” Pascual stated.
