Ang Mabuting Balita, 19 Oktubre 2023 – Lucas 11: 47-54

PAGPAPAIMBABAW

Noong panahong iyon, sinabi ni Jesus, “Kawawa kayo! Ipinagtatayo ninyo ng magagarang libingan ang mga propetang pinagpapatay ng inyong mga magulang. Sa ganitong paraan, kayo na rin ang nagpapatunay na sang-ayon kayo sa mga ginawa ng inyong mga magulang; sapagkat sila ang pumatay sa mga propeta at kayo naman ang nagtatayo ng libingang puntod ng mga yaon. Dahil dito’y sinabi rin ng Karunungan ng Diyos, ‘Magsusugo ako sa kanila ng mga propeta at ng mga apostol; ang iba’y papatayin nila at uusigin ang iba.’ Sa gayo’y lalagpak sa lahing ito ang parusa dahil sa pagpatay sa mga propeta buhat nang itatag ang sanlibutan, magmula kay Abel hanggang kay Zacarias na pinatay sa pagitan ng dambanang sunugan ng mga handog at ng gusali ng Templo. Sinasabi ko sa inyo, lalagpak sa lahing ito ang parusa dahil sa kanilang ginawa.

“Kawawa kayo, mga dalubhasa sa Kautusan! Sapagkat inalis ninyo ang susi ng karunungan. Ayaw na ninyong magsipasok, hinahadlangan pa ninyo ang mga nagnanais pumasok.”

At umalis si Jesus sa bahay na iyon. Mula noon, tinuligsa na siya ng mga eskriba at ng mga Pariseo at pinagtatatanong tungkol sa maraming bagay, upang masilo siya sa kanyang pananalita.

Mukhang galit na galit si Jesus sa mga eskriba at Pariseo na nakikinig sa kanyang mga itinuturo, hindi upang mayroong matutunan kundi “upang masilo siya sa kanyang pananalita.” Sa kalaunan, bumalangkas sila na patayin siya. Ang lahat ng ito ay dahil nakikita ni Jesus ang kanilang PAGPAPAIMBABAW, ang kanilang pagkukunwari na magmukhang banal at relihiyoso sa harapan ng mga tao, bagama’t sinasabi nilang mga dalubhasa sila sa Kautusan. Marahil, galit na galit si Jesus sa kanila sapagkat paano maliligtas ang ganitong uri ng mga tao?

Paano tayo maliligtas kung sa tingin natin hindi natin kailangan ang kaligtasan?

Pagnilayan natin itong awit na isinulat ni Fr. Fruto Ramirez, S.J., PANGINOON, AKING TANGLAW –

Panginoon aking tanglaw;

Tanging ikaw ang kaligtasan.

Sa panganib ingatan ako;

Ang lingkod mong nananalig sa ‘yo.

Ang tawag ko’y ‘yong pakinggan;

Lingapin mo at kahabagan.

Anyaya mo’y lumapit sa ‘yo;

Huwag magkubli huwag kang magtago.

Sa bawat sulok ng mundo

ang lingkod mong hahanap sa ‘yo.

Ang tawag ko’y ‘yong pakinggan;

Lingapin mo at kahabagan.

Panginoon aking tanglaw;

Tanging ikaw ang kaligtasan.

Sa masama ilayo mo ako;

Ang lingkod mong umiibig sa ‘yo!
