Radio Veritas 846 the leading faith-based am station in the Philippines, recently recognized schools and students’ excellence in radio broadcasting in Campus Hour Season Six.
Colegio De San Juan De Letran-Calamba bagged major awards this season, with Best Campus Hour School Award and the Veritas Truth Award in a simple ceremony held last Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the Philippine Women’s University- Jose Abad Santos Memorial School in Quezon City.

Audience Choice Award: Polytechnic University of the Philippines
Best Program Theme Song: Unibersidad De Manila
Best Program Segment: Philippine Women’s University
Best Program Episode: Polytechnic University of the Philippines
Best Radio Promotional Campaign: Centro Escolar University Malolos
Best Program Format: Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila
Best Audio Production Impact: Far Eastern University
Best Female Anchor: JaymieDela Rosa (Far Eastern University)
Best Male Anchor: Jordan Cueto (Colegio De San Juan De Letran- Calamba)
Best Production Team: Centro Escolar University- Malolos
During the event several schools have also signed another contract for the seventh season of Campus hour which will begin in July this year. Among the schools are: Centro Escolar University Malolos, Colegio De San Juan De LetranCalamba, Far Eastern University, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, Philippine Women’s University of the Philippines, Unibersidad De Manila, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina and St. Paul University Manila. Campus Hour airs every Saturday from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm at Radio Veritas 846 and is streamed live at www.veritas846.ph. Campus Hour is a youth-oriented weekly program that features content solely produced by college students from various higher learning institutions from Metro Manila and nearby areas. Each participating school is given four consecutive episodes every season.
During the Awarding Ceremony, Radio Veritas Vice President for Operations Rev. Fr. Roy Bellen stressed the crucial role of the youth in bringing the Good News to young people.
“Kaya nga po andito kayo ngayon mga kabataan, para po iyon pong creativity ay magamit ninyo para mangibabaw po ang Simbahan… I’m very happy na you’re helping us out. Na ito pong inyong ginagawa would help ang Simbahan para marinig po ang Simbahan ng mga kabataan,” Fr. Bellen stressed.
The youth-oriented program aims to provide communication students the opportunity to showcase their talents and creativity and take part in the evangelization program of Radio Veritas through nationwide radio broadcast and global outreach through the internet.
Radio Veritas 846 is owned and operated by the Archdiocese of Manila. Established in 1969, the Ramon Magsaysay recipient Catholic radio station continues to be the leading social communications ministry for truth and evangelization in the country today.
