Gospel Reading for September 20, 2024 – Luke 8: 1-3

RECOGNIZE

Jesus journeyed from one town and village to another, preaching and proclaiming the good news of the Kingdom of God. Accompanying him were the Twelve and some women who had been cured of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out, Joanna, the wife of Herod’s steward Chuza, Susanna, and many others who provided for them out of their resources.

How important it is to RECOGNIZE God’s loving kindness through the blessings we have received from him especially during very difficult times or very difficult moments in our life. Looking back at these times should inspire us to be thoughtful of, and helpful with, others who are going through difficult times. Looking back at these times should inspire us to share our blessings, especially with those in need. Looking back at these times should inspire us to do our best to be faithful to the teachings of Jesus.

How important it is to be GRATEFUL or THANKFUL and not take for granted the blessings we received, and continue to receive from God each day. It will teach us not to be BOASTFUL and keep HUMBLE, a trait we need badly if we are to follow Jesus faithfully.

Let us ponder on the song, YOU ARE MOST BEAUTIFUL –

You are most beautiful!
You are most wonderful!
You’re everything I need
to help me through the day.
You are most marvelous!
Your love just overflows,
and every breath I take
comes only from you Lord!
When I wake up each day,
I can’t thank you enough
for giving me a new day.
Every moment, every hour
you always sustain me
and fill me with your grace.
When at times I fall,
your mercy and compassion
you give me without fail;
and when I stand you give
the strength I need for
me to take the right way.
You are most beautiful!
You are most wonderful!
You’re everything I need
to help me through the day.
You are most marvelous!
Your love just overflows,
and every breath I take
comes only from you Lord!
Thank you, Lord!
