Ang Mabuting Balita, 17 Nobyembre 2023 – Lucas 17: 26-37
Sa PAGBIBIGAY at hindi para sa PAGKUHA
Noong panahong iyon, sinabi ni jesus sa kanyang mga alagad, “Ang pagparito ng Anak ng Tao ay matutulad sa kapanahunan ni Noe. Noon, ang mga tao’y nagsisikain at nagsisiinom, nag-aasawa, hanggang sa araw na sumakay si Noe sa daong. Dumating ang baha at namatay silang lahat. Gayun din noong panahon ni Lot. Ang mga tao’y nagsisikain at nagsisiinom, namimili at nagbibili, nagtatanim at nagtatayo ng bahay. Ngunit nang araw na umalis si Lot sa Sodoma, umulan ng apoy at asupre at natupok silang lahat. Gayun din sa pagdating ng Anak ng Tao.
“Sa araw na iyon, ang nasa bubungan ay huwag nang bumaba upang kunin ang kanyang mga ari-arian sa loob ng bahay. Ang nasa bukid ay huwag nang umuwi. Alalahanin ninyo ang nangyari sa asawa ni Lot. Ang sinumang magsikap na iligtas ang kanyang buhay ay mawawalan nito; ngunit ang sinumang mawalan ng kanyang buhay ay siyang makapagliligtas nito. Sinasabi ko sa inyo: may dalawang lalaking natutulog sa isang higaan sa gabing iyon; kukunin ang isa at iiwan ang isa. May dalawang babaing magkasamang gumigiling; kukunin ang isa at iiwan ang isa. May dalawang lalaking gumagawa sa bukid; kukunin ang isa at iiwan ang isa.” “Saan po, Panginoon?” tanong ng kanyang mga alagad. Sumagot siya, “Kung saan naroon ang mga bangkay, doon naman nagkakatipon ang mga buwitre.”

Nakakatakot ang sinasabi ni Jesus, ngunit nakakatakot lamang para sa mga taong namumuhay ng walang pakialam sa iba at ang iniisip lamang ay ang sarili; mga nag-iisip na ang buhay natin ay para lang sa atin. Mahalagang alalahanin na ang buhay na ipinagkaloob ng Diyos sa atin ay para sa PAGBIBIGAY at hindi para sa PAGKUHA. Ito ang ibig sabihin ni Jesus na, “Ang sinumang magsikap na iligtas ang kanyang buhay ay mawawalan nito; ngunit ang sinumang mawalan ng kanyang buhay ay siyang makapagliligtas nito.” Kapag iniisip lang natin ang ating sarili, malamang na matatapakan natin ang karapatan ng iba at kukunin natin ang hindi atin dahil lamang gusto natin. Sa kabilang dako, kapag tayo ay namumuhay ng namamatay sa sarili para sa iba, ito ang ligtas na buhay. Tulad ng bahagi ng panalangin ni San Francisco de Asisi, “Sa pagbibigay ng ating sarili tayo nakakatanggap at sa pagkamatay tayo’y ipinanganganak sa buhay na walang hanggan.” Hindi natin kailangang hintayin ang isang malaking kalamidad o umulan ng apoy at asupre upang magising tayo at gawin ang tama. Habang may buhay pa tayo, mayroon tayong pag-asa, at ang pag-asang yon ay NGAYON!
Panginoong Jesus, ang iyong daan ang tiyak na daan patungong buhay na walang hanggan. Tulungan mo kaming sundan ka ng mabuti at manatili sa iyong daan buong buhay namin!
