Tiniyak ng Caritas Manila na hindi lamang sa pagtulong sa mga mahihirap natatapos ang tungkulin ng social arm ng Archdiocese of Manila.
Inihayag ni Fr.Anton CT Pascual, executive director ng Caritas Manila na natuon ang institusyon sa “sustainable future” at hindi dole-out.
Tinukoy ng Pari ang matatag na Caritas Damayan Program na mabilis ang disaster response hindi lamang sa Metro Manila kungdi sa alinmang bahagi ng bansa.
Dahil sa organized network of community leaders ay nakakapagpadala ang Caritas Manila ng tulong sa mga nasalanta ng kalamidad sa loob ng 24 hanggang 72-oras.
“Caritas Manila is not just uplifting the poor, it is also steadfast in its commitment to building a stronger future, here are our programs focus on disaster risk reduction and climate action, Caritas Damayan organize network of community leaders, parish priests and volunteers that will respond to disaster within 24 to 72hrs, with Radio Veritas as our partner we ensure the disaster assessment and response are carried down efficiently,” mensahe ng Caritas Manila.
Pinalawak din ng Caritas Manila ang mga sustainable initiative tulad ng Gen 129 project na umaabot na sa 1,500 hydrophonics kits ang naipamahagi sa urban poor communities sa Metro Manila.
Itinuturo ng Caritas Manila sa mga urban poor ang urban gardening gamit ang mga hydrophonic kits upang magkaroon ng food security at masustansiyang pagkain.
“Gen 129 main trusts are addressing food security, curbing poverty, intensifying environmental advocacy, ensuring physical wellness through plant-based diets and caring for God’s Creation, Gen 129 distributes hydrophonic kits (1,500), installs hydroponic set up and give training to help communities to grow their own foods, it also has a waste management program,” mensahe ng Caritas Manila.
Noong 2020, mahigit sa 2-bilyong piso ang ipinamahaging tulong ng Caritas Manila sa mga biktima ng COVID-19 pandemic at pananalasa ng bagyong Ullyses, Rolly at Odette.
