Ito ang paalala ni Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) President at Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas sa susunod na hanay ng mga Obispo na mamamahala sa kapulungan.
Ayon kay Archbishop Villegas, hindi ang karanasan o tagal ng paghawak sa isang posisyon ang batayan sa pagiging isang opisyal ng CBCP dahil nakasentro ito sa paggabay at grasya na ipinagkaloob ng Panginoon sa bawat mamumuno.
“Ang pagiging officer ng CBCP ay hindi nakasalalay sa experience. Ito ay nakasalalay sa awa ng Diyos at alam na alam ko na ‘yung Espiritu Santo na ibinigay sa kanila nang sila ay maging Obispo, ‘yun din ang Espiritu Santo na gagabay sa kanilang paglilingkod sa CBCP,” paglalahad ni Archbishop Villegas.
Samantala kampante rin ang Arsobispo na buong pusong magagampanan ni Davao Archbishop Romulo Valles ang kanyang tungkilin bilang ika-20 pinuno ng Kapulungan ng mga Katolikong Obispo ng Pilipinas.
Kaugnay nito itinalaga naman si Kalookan Bishop Pablo Virgilio David bilang ikalawang pangulo ng CBCP.
Magiging treasurer ng CBCP si Palo Archbishop John Du habang secretary general si Father Melvin Mejia.
