Gospel Reading for December 6, 2024 – Matthew 9: 27-31
TRULY BELIEVE
As Jesus passed by, two blind men followed him, crying out, “Son of David, have pity on us!” When he entered the house, the blind men approached him and Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I can do this?” “Yes, Lord,” they said to him. Then he touched their eyes and said, “Let it be done for you according to your faith.” And their eyes were opened. Jesus warned them sternly, “See that no one knows about this.” But they went out and spread word of him through all that land.

Again, Jesus gives sight to the blind men, but before doing so, wanted to know if they believed in his ability to make them see. A lot of miracles happen when we TRULY BELIEVE. It is something like when we gravitate towards good, good things really happen to us, and vice-versa. God has all the power to heal us, but to receive his power, we need to believe. This is how God humbles himself – he gives us credit for the graces we receive from him each day.
Open our eyes, Lord, that we may always see you in those who are in need!
