Church-run Radio Veritas President Rev. Fr. Anton Pascual encouraged the faithful to be more aware about the plans of the Catholic Church by supporting and joining their activities and programs.
Pascual said that these programs provide more opportunities to profess their faith and deepen their devotion.
“As we all know, venerated images from various parts of our country are currently enthroned here in Our Lady of Veritas Chapel. We are doing these programs as part of our main goal to make the public aware about the plans of the Catholic Church as we prepare to celebrate the 500th year of Christianity in our country,” Pascual said.
On September 13, the faithful may profess their pledge of devotion to St. Padre Pio at the Our Lady of Veritas Chapel in EDSA, Quezon City.
St. Padre Pio was an Italian priest who was known for his piety and charity, as well as the gift of the stigmata, which has never been explained.
By 1919, word began to spread about Padre Pio’s stigmata and people came from far away to examine him. He became popular with the people he encountered and soon began to attribute supernatural occurrences to him.
Meanwhile, devotees and Catholic faithful may pray and look forward for other enthroned venerated images at Veritas Chapel which include Nuestra Señora del Mar Cautiva (September 3 – 28), Our Lady of Peñafrancia (September 6 – 16), St. Joseph Cupertino (September 10– 18), and St. Therese of the Child Jesus (September 22 – October 1).
Moreover, Pascual reminds the faithful that they may send their prayer requests, petitions, thanksgiving prayers and other intentions at the Healing Mass by 12 noon to be presided by Rev. Fr. Soy Hernando on September 17.
Devotees will also receive a pillow of St. Padre Pio and a pledge of devotion certificate.
“Let us take this opportunity to pray not only for our personal intentions but also for our brothers and sisters in need to seek for God’s mercy, our leaders to remain faithful while serving our country, and our clerics and consecrated persons to continue their devotion to the Almighty Father,” Pascual added.
