Radio Veritas, the leading faith based AM station in Mega Manila, in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) will provide the public better understanding of climate change and other environmental issues through the station’s new program, “Ang Tinig Klima”.
It is being aired every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. with the theme, “Nagbabago na ang Panahon, Panahon na para Magbago”. It draws inspiration from Laudato Si’ (On Care for Our Common Home), the encyclical letter of Pope Francis addressing man’s destruction of the environment and its threat to man’s relationship with nature and one another.
The radio program is hosted by Riza Mendoza of Radio Veritas and Analiza Rebuelta Teh DENR Undersecretary for Climate Change Service.
Rev. Fr. Anton CT Pascual, Radio Veritas President encourages the public to support the new program.
“This partnership of the Catholic Church’s radio station with one of the Government’s key agency for environmental stewardship is a sign of the flourishing relationship between these institutions. Let us all be aware of the environmental crisis we are facing and the consequences of our actions as protectors of nature. May we all embody our mission as God’s instrument in cultivating and caring for our only home,” Fr. Pascual said.
“Ang Tinig Klima” is part of the initiatives of Radio Veritas through its Veritas 500 program that aims to encourage the Catholic faithful to change their lifestyle to prevent further degradation of our environment and to address climate change as the Church prepares for the celebration of the 500 years of Christianity in the Philippines.
Radio Veritas 846, the number one faith-based Radio in the Philippines, is owned and operated by the Archdiocese of Manila. Established in 1969, the Ramon Magsaysay recipient Catholic radio station continues to be the leading social communications ministry for truth and new evangelization in the country today.
